About The Hamilton Cycling Committee
The Hamilton Cycling Committee is an advisory committee
to the City of Hamilton Public Works Department.
We are comprised of citizens - including both recreational and commuter cyclists. What we have in common is a desire to make cycling safe, fun and easy in Hamilton. Auto drivers are reminded to "Share the Road".
To further promote this message stop by any of the
bike shops in
Hamilton and pick up a free "Share the Road" car magnet to
spread the message (while quantities last). In Hamilton,
it is illegal to ride a bicycle on the sidewalk.
Other communities are welcome to use the following image for
similar promotions:

Some of the objectives of the Hamilton Cycling Committee's
mandate are:
- To provide a liaison between cyclists and the City
- To advise staff and Council on bicycling facilities and issues
- To promote cycling as a feasible modality in Hamilton
- To further cycling safety. See the "safety" tab on the left
for more tips
The Hamilton Cycling Committee meets the first Wednesday of
every month at 5:00 p.m.at the Hamilton City Centre (former
Eaton's Centre), room 350B. Note that the April 7, 2010
meeting is at Highview Elementary School on Queensdale Ave. We welcome those enthusiastic about cycling to drop by and attend one of our meetings.
